Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register my newborn?

Congratulations on your new baby! If you would like to schedule a consult to meet one of our doctors before you deliver, please call our office at 212-781-0400 to set up that first appointment. Otherwise, once you deliver, please call us so we can set up a hospital followup appointment for your baby, usually 24-72 hours after you are discharged from the hospital. Click here for more information on registering your newborn, as well as accessing the registration paperwork!

How do I make my child's well visit appointments?

Glad we get to see you again! If you are uncertain when your child is due for their appointment, please click here to check our well visit schedule. This lists the schedule for the visits as well as what to generally expect at each visit. In order to schedule your visit, give our office a call or contact us via the patient portal and our staff will be happy to find a time that works best for you. We recommend contacting us as far in advance as possible as well visits with specific doctors do fill up quickly.

My child is sick. How do I determine whether I should come in the office?

So sorry that your child is not feeling well! If you are unsure if you need to come in to the office, take a look at our "Common Illnesses & Symptoms" page where you can find information to help you better determine the course of action for your child. Of course, if you are concerned about your child's well being you can always call our office to schedule a same-day sick appointment or speak with a nurse to discuss their symptoms.

Will my child be getting any vaccines at their visit?

Great Question- we know that vaccines can be hard to handle for kids and their parents! Take a look at our vaccine information page for the vaccine policy and common side effects of each vaccine. The typical vaccine schedule can be found on our "Preparing for Your Well Visit" Page.

Why am I getting so many reminders?

Reminders go out for a number of reasons: 1. You are due for a well visit. 2. You need to confirm your scheduled visit. 3. You have an outstanding balance.

How do I request a form?

We know forms are very important for enrolling your child in school or camp! In order for us to fill out a form, your child must have had a well visit within the past year. To request a form, please either bring the form with you to your child's well visit, or give our office a call and let us know which form you are requesting. The forms we have on file can be found here, but otherwise you will need to email, fax, or bring a hard copy of the form you'd like filled out. Forms can usually only be filled out if your child is up to date on their well visit schedule. All forms must be looked over by a doctor, and typically take between 5-7 business days to complete. There is also a $5 charge for completing forms. Click here for more information on our form policy!

How do I schedule a consult with a new doctor?

What dosage of ibuprofen/acetaminophen should I give my child?

Good question! Medication dosing can be tricky-- click here for detailed lists of which Advil, Tylenol, and Benadryl dosage is right for your child, depending on their weight.

How do I schedule a sick visit for my child?

So sorry your child isn't feeling well! We schedule sick visits the same day you call and we will fill up the slots as we receive calls. The morning appointments must be filled first and then we can move on to any open afternoon slots. Just give our office a call on the day you'd like to bring your child in and we will do our best to fit you in at a time that works for you!

Are you open on weekends?

We are open some Sundays for urgent sick appointments when your child is experiencing acute symptoms that need to be addressed by the doctor. Please check our calendar for doctor availability. Please call the office at 10:30am on Sunday if you think your child needs to be seen urgently. Additionally, there may be an extra charge associated with Sunday visits as they are appointments outside of regular office hours. You will be responsible for any deductibles or copays due by your insurance company. We are closed all Saturdays.

How do I know when my child can go back to school?

Good question! The answer for this will vary with each child and illness; however, here are some general guidelines as to when a child is free to return to their regular child care. Also, feel free to take a look at our Common Illnesses and Symptoms page to get a sense of when your child may need to be seen in the office to assess.

Do you accept walk-ins?

No, we do not accept walk-ins. We are happy to schedule same-day sick visits, but please call our office at 212-781-0400 to schedule a visit.
