Meet Our Staff

Brigette Bernhardt, RN

Brigette is a Registered Nurse at Hudson Heights Pediatrics. She is from Santa Cruz, CA and graduated from UCLA with a degree in Biology before deciding to go into nursing.

 

She is currently in the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program at Columbia University. She plans to work in a primary care setting in the future in the US and globally.

 

In her free time, she enjoys yoga, rock climbing, coaching gymnastics, and traveling.

Shing Wen, RN

Shing is a Registered Nurse at Hudson Heights Pediatrics. She is from Berkeley, CA and graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Integrative Biology. 

 

As a kid, she loved her visits with her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner so much that she decided she wanted to be one too! She is currently in the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program at Columbia University. After graduating, she hopes to work in the primary care setting.

 

In her free time, she loves to run, be outdoors, cook, and read. 

Mia Diplock, RN

Mia is a Registered Nurse at Hudson Heights Pediatrics. She is from a small town in Maine that no one has ever heard of - Vienna. Mia graduated from Colby College with a degree in Psychology and a concentration in Neuroscience before pursuing a career in nursing. She is currently in the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program at Columbia University. She has an interested in working in a primary care setting or in pediatric neurology.

When Mia isn't at work in school she likes to read, play basketball, go for runs, or just be outside enjoying the fresh air.

Ashley Taylor, Billing Coordinator

Ashley is a Clinical Assistant at Hudson Heights Pediatrics originally from Atlanta, GA.

 

She graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University in May 2018 with a B.A in Psychology concentrating Linguistics. While at Barnard, Ashley studied accent variations in Black English, specifically in the Atlanta area. 

 

She plans to apply to a speech language pathology masters but in her free time, Ashley loves trivia, learning new languages,  practicing calligraphy and trying out New York City's best restaurants.

Gina Farinella, Clinical Assistant

Gina is a Clinical Assistant at Hudson Heights Pediatrics originally from Warwick, NY. 

 

She graduated from SUNY Binghamton with a B.S. in Integrative Neuroscience and moved to Queens, NY in August 2019. While at Binghamton, Gina worked as a medical scribe at Lourdes Pediatrics and participated in multiple cognitive psychology and behavioral neuroscience experiments. 

 

In her free time, Gina enjoys exploring all that the city has to offer, spending time with dogs, and having movie nights with friends.

Azeezat Siyanbola, Clinical Assistant 

Azeezat is a Clinical Assistant at Hudson Heights Pediatrics. She was born in Ibadan, Nigeria and moved to the Bronx at age 5 where she’s lived ever since.

 

Azeezat graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University in May 2019 with a B.A in Neuroscience and Behavior while on a pre-med track. At Barnard, Azeezat was a Residential Assistant and a Barnard Babysitter, spending most of her time with children across Manhattan.

 

During her free time, she enjoys vlogging and indoor roller skating. 

Lauren Stafford, Clinical Assistant

Lauren is a Clinical Assistant at Hudson Heights Pediatrics, joining us in June of 2020. 

 

She is originally from Manhattan and graduated from New York University in May 2020. Lauren graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology and Global Public Health. While at NYU, Lauren researched developmental genetics, specifically the redundancy of enhancers in Drosophila

 

She plans to apply to medical school to become a pediatrician. In her free time, Lauren loves to read, cook, and spend time with friends.

Emily O'Dell, Clinical Assistant

Emily is a Clinical Assistant at Hudson Heights Pediatrics originally from Baltimore, MD.

 

She graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University in May 2020 with a B.A. in Medical Anthropology. Her studies at Barnard were focused on maternal and child health, and she travelled around the world interviewing mothers, midwives, and doulas before writing her senior thesis on the topic of childbirth. 

 

Emily aspires to be a certified nurse-midwife, but in the meantime she spends her free time baking, Facetiming her dogs back home, and embarking on a quest to try every oat milk latte in the city. 

Ruthy Amkraut, Clinical Assistant

Ruthy is a clinical assistant at Hudson Heights Pediatrics originally from Cleveland, Ohio. 

She graduated from Columbia University with a B.A in Comparative Literature and Society in the Medicine, Literature, and Society program. While at Columbia Ruthy worked as a Residential Adviser and studied the literary connections between queerness and illness. 

In her free time, Ruthy enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends (especially her dog).
